Here is today's communion meditation.
Lately we have talked about having "One Great Day." To focus on having one really great day where we bring God into the day with us, have the fruit of the Spirit flowing, walk in love, take action on what we know to do, and connect with people.
But to have one great day requires us not dwelling on things we shouldn't be dwelling on. To have a great day today we have to keep our mind fixed on what is lovely, just, true, pure, right, excellent, praiseworthy, and of good report. If we are going to have a great day, we don't have time waster by dwelling on all of the ways people annoy us and wrong us or to spend a bunch of time magnifying whatever problems we are facing. We have to learn to let those things go and change our focus.
In today's communion we are asking God to help us let go of the things that typically weigh us down in a day and redirect our focus so that we walk out One Great Day... TODAY.

Here is today's communion meditation.
Yesterday we talked about having "One Great Day." To focus on having one really great day where we bring God into the day with us, have the fruit of the Spirit flowing, walk in love, take action on what we know to do, and connect with people.
But to have one great day requires us getting the day started right, because it's easy forget when we wake up and start going through the motions. How we start the day sets the tone for the whole day.
I like to start the day with the words, "Let there be light," and then start filling up the basket of praise for who God is and all that he has done. Then I like to pray our daily prayer and spend a few minutes praying in the spirit while bringing people that I know to mind. And to have a great day this all needs to be done with energy and fervency so that we start the day in an energized state. After Bible reading it's time to attack whatever we have that day. Genesis 49:27 says Benjam...

Yesterday I was reminded of the power of one day. Today is a gift, but we often go through the motions. Here is a challenge for all of us today... Make today...just this one day, a great day. If you have an area you have wanted to see a breakthrough in for a long time, let's focus on having one great day in that area.
To me a great day is one where we stay connected to God, full of the fruit of the Spirit(love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, self control, faith, etc) and we take action on those things we know to do. It doesn't mean we get it all perfect, but we make quick corrections if needed.
One great day can turn things around and it simplifies life... just have one great day today, and then do it again tomorrow.
But we also need to be careful that the demand and pressure of having one great day is not put onto us... we need to learn how to roll the demand over onto God's supply rather than our own. ...
Here is today's communion meditation.
Today I wanted to do a little reminder of one of the most important things I have learned... stick with what you know to do.
Often, we get caught up in all of the "what if's," and things that we could do, but I have learned that it is better to stick with what I KNOW to do.
Sticking with what we know to do can simplify life, help us gain clarity, and provide a clear path through the overwhelm when we have a lot to do.
In today's communion we are asking God to help us grow to new levels of doing what we know to do.
Today's Health and Fitness Tip
Health and fitness can be overly complicated today, but if we will stick with what we know to do, it will greatly simplify things.

Here is this week's Yearly Cycle update.
Research shows that when people are dropped off in an area they don't know and they don't have landmarks for navigation that their default is to walk in circles because they make biased decisions to one side. The same can be true in our lives, we need something to navigate by in order to move our lives forward rather than going in circles. And I think God meant for his standard and plan for our life to be what navigates us.
God's standard is grace... that he never stops doing good for us, even when we miss it. And part of navigating our lives is that we must receive this from God and learn to do the same for others. This becomes like True North on a compass that helps us find our way. His plan for our life can also be what guides us forward.
Here is our filter for this week... True North

Here is today's communion meditation.
Yesterday we talked about 1 Peter 5:10 which says...
But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
In the original Greek language of this verse the word settle is often translated as "Foundation," and this month our message is about having a foundation of rest. To settle is to come to rest. While thinking about the concept of settling in, Genesis 26 also came to mind which tells the story of Isaac settling in the land God showed him. Here is the passage:
Now there was a famine in the land—besides the previous famine in Abraham’s time—and Isaac went to Abimelek king of the Philistines in Gerar. The LORD appeared to Isaac and said, “Do not go down to Egypt. Settle in the land where I tell you. 3 Stay in this land for a while, and I will be with you and will bless you.

When I played college baseball, there were times when one of the athletic trainers would take me through some stretching. During those stretches he would push my leg into the stretch, and he would often say, " let me have it." He wanted me to totally relax my leg so that he could get it into a better position, but I remember struggling with truly relaxing my leg and letting him have control of it. Even though I was trying to relax I was still fighting against him.
I think the same is true for many of us in our walk with God. We know to cast our cares over onto him and to let him have control. but this can be hard to actually do. We have to trust him on a very deep level to truly turn things over to him.
In today's communion we are asking God to help us relax and give him control at a new level.

This month we have been talking about a foundation of rest... Resting in God's promises, resting in our soul, and getting our physical rest. In order for us to truly rest I think we must first trust. Trust leads to rest. But how do we know if we are really trusting. I think hope is our indicator that we are trusting. One of the dictionary definitions of hope is the feeling of trust. And the Amplified Bible defines hope as the confident expectation of good.
Today's communion is a time of gratitude that we have the God of all hope with us. And we are asking him to help us understand hope and to walk in trust/hope in new levels.

The last few days I have added a little time to my workouts to play with my kids. We did things like run, jump, walk across balance beams, jump rope, tumbling, and playing tag. Jesus said the kids have a lot of the secrets. Making some time to play like a kid is an im...

The other day we talked about having a standard for excellence in our lives, especially in the little things. And we also said we need to be careful not to put the pressure on ourselves, but to roll the pressure onto God and trust him to supply us with the grace to walk in a new standard of excellence.
While thinking about this I was reminded that beauty takes time. To really do things excellently it takes time to make sure things are done right. Ecclesiastes 3 says that God makes all things beautiful in its time.
In today's communion we are asking God to help us understand how he makes all things beautiful in its time, and to apply this understanding to our lives.
Today's Health and Fitness Tip
Be patient in your health and fitness, it takes a little time to transform.
