Here is today's communion meditation.
We have been talking about making today a masterpiece. I think it starts with the belief that God has a plan for today. He has designed a day for you to walk out today. But, during that day there are both hidden traps that try to steal your day and hidden opportunities for good things to happen that you weren't planning on.Â
These traps that try to steal your day usually start out as tiny thoughts... Thoughts of overwhelm, pressure, worry, resentment, getting offended or annoyed by people, pride, and so on. They start as tiny thoughts but continuing to think and meditate on these thoughts grows them to a place where they can steal our focus and day.Â
You can wake up with excitement for the day, but somewhere during the day these thoughts are going to come to try and steal your day. The first key is understanding that this is going to happen, and then being prepared to cast those thoughts down and stay focused on God and doin...
Here is today's communion meditation.
In 1 Samuel we see two different stories of baggage.
The first story is about Saul who was anointed by God to be the king of Israel. When it came time to present him as the king to the people, they couldn't find him and it says in 1 Samuel 10:22 So they inquired again of the LORD, “Is there a man still to come?” and the LORD said, “Behold, he has hidden himself among the baggage.”
Â
When David fought Goliath, he got up early that morning and it says in 1 Samuel 17:2 Then David left the baggage in the care of the baggage keeper and ran to the battle line. And he entered and greeted his brothers.
Saul was hiding in the baggage, while David left his baggage behind in order to go fight the giant. In order for us to step into what God for our lives, I think it requires leaving any baggage from the past behind, and it is going to require courage. When we leave the baggage behind, we can run. Hebrews 12:1 says let us also lay asi...
Here is today's communion meditation.
Lately I have been thinking about why God made our bodies.
In 1 Corinthians 6 it says that the body is for the Lord and the Lord for the body.Â
I think we have a body so that we can partner with God to display who he is. We can be his voice, his hands, and feet to display his love, grace, beauty, kindness, goodness, patience, wisdom, and all of who he is.Â
Today's communion is a time of gratitude for the New Covenant, and that we can partner with God. And we are asking God for help to firm up our commitment to our partnership with him so that we display his splendor even more.Â
Something I have learned is that if you will commit to this then he will sustain your body.Â
Today's Health/Workout Tip

In Isaiah 43:25-26 God says, “I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins. Put me in remembrance; let us argue together; set forth your case, that you may be proved right.
God blots out our transgressions for His sake, not ours, so that he will not remember our sins. 1 Corinthians 13 says that love keeps no record of wrongs.Â
When we put God in remembrance of us, he now sees who we are in Christ.Â
Jesus said as often as we take communion to remember him. It is an opportunity to stir his sacrifice into our remembrance to that we don't forget that he is with us. And it is also an opportunity to commune with God and put him in remembrance of us as well. And when he remembers us, the result is that we are proved right or righteous in his sight because of Christ.Â
Today's communion is a time of gratitude that God does not remember our sins and a time to put him into remembranc...
Here is today's communion meditation.
Yesterday we talked about the importance of embracing those times when life gives you variety and knocks you out of your normal schedule. It turned out yesterday was one of those days for me, which is why today's video is a little different.Â
In Mark 8 Jesus has just multiplied the loaves and fish and fed the multitude and then the disciples get in the boat, and they are arguing/complaining about how they only have 2 loaves of bread. Jesus looks at them and says... Don't you remember?
Don't you remember when I broke the bread and fed thousands and still had 12 baskets left over. Don't you remember... Do you still not understand?
Jesus said as often as we take communion to remember him.Â
Communion is an opportunity to remember that when it looks life you don't have enough, or you are in an impossible looking situation he is with you, and nothing is impossible with him. Stir this into your remembrance today. Remembering him ...
This is a time of year when people are going to start falling off of the health wagon. They made a resolution to get healthier, but unfortunately, most people are taking the wrong approach and aren't going to sustain it much longer.Â
After many years of research into health and seeking God about how our bodies function here is the conclusion I have come to... Health is a skill and most of the things that really work are very simple but need to be executed daily.
There are certain fundamentals practices that always lead to improved health. But we must make a commitment to mastering these things and to taking a graceful approach that allows us to be successful over the long term.Â
A graceful approach is one that puts God in the center and makes him the source of our health. Then it is about connecting with him and taking an approach that allows us to be consistent over the long term. Give yourself longer to see results, think 1-3 years rather than 3 months and ma...
Here is today's communion meditation.
In life we need a balance of consistency and variety. Consistency is how we develop skills, and over the last year we have talked a lot about how consistent repetition leads to greatness. In life one of the keys is to find the things that really matter and repeat them often, usually daily. Sometimes people get bored with repetition, which is why it is important to bring presence and energy into the things we are practicing consistently.
But we also need variety, to keep things fresh and break us through to new levels. Something I have found is that life often gives us a lot of variety without having to plan for it. God has built change into the world to keep nudging us forward, and changes in the world offer variety that can help us break through plateaus. We can see this variety as a bad thing because it messes up our consistency, but it often is the thing that triggers new growth to the next level. God often opens doors to ...

Living a life of faith doesn't mean we don't have problems anymore. There will still be highs and lows, hills and valleys, but it means learning to handle them a different way because we have God with us.Â
In Deuteronomy 11:10-12 God told his people...
10 The land you are entering to take over is not like the land of Egypt, from which you have come, where you planted your seed and irrigated it by foot as in a vegetable garden. 11 But the land you are crossing the Jordan to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks rain from heaven. 12 It is a land the Lord your God cares for; the eyes of the Lord your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end.
During the highs it is important to stay consistent and humble, recognizing that God is the source of increase. During the valleys it is a time to get our hearts more established in the New Covenant and grow our trust in him.Â
When th...

Emotions are a true gift from God, in that they give us feedback so that we can make adjustments. We often view negative emotions such as sorrow as a bad thing, but there is a Godly sorrow that leads to true change and us living a life with no regrets.Â
2 Corinthians 7:5-13 says...
5 For when we came into Macedonia, we had no rest, but we were harassed at every turn—conflicts on the outside, fears within. 6 But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus, 7 and not only by his coming but also by the comfort you had given him. He told us about your longing for me, your deep sorrow, your ardent concern for me, so that my joy was greater than ever.
8 Even if I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it. Though I did regret it—I see that my letter hurt you, but only for a little while— 9 yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance.
For you b...
Today we are taking communion over Psalm 91, which has some amazing promises for those that make God their secret place.Â
1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”
3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence.
4 He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and [b]buckler.
5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day.
6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you.
8 Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your...
