Here is today's communion meditation.
This month our message is "Walking in God's Best Today."
The last couple of days we talked about how in 1 Thessalonians 2 Paul said he was gentle among the people like a nursing mother cherishes her children while at the same time he was encouraging, comforting, and urging the people like a father to live lives worthy of God and his glory.
Sandwiched in between these verses Paul said in 1 Thessalonians 2:9-10, " Surely you remember, brothers and sisters, our toil and hardship; we worked night and day in order not to be a burden to anyone while we preached the gospel of God to you. 10 You are witnesses, and so is God, of how holy, righteous and blameless we were among you who believed."
In Joshua chapter 1 God said to meditate on his word night and day, but in this passage we see Paul working night and day. It was Paul's meditation on the word that allowed him to work, but it wasn't Paul working, it was God's energy powerf...
Here is this week's Yearly Cycle update.
During the summer light is increasing, and during this time God wants to expand our vision. He has given us purpose and grace in Christ Jesus before time ever began, and he wants to show us a bigger glimpse of his plan for our life.
The key is to keep walking with him, and he will show you a bigger glimpse. And when he shows you something bigger make sure to say yes, because it will take faith to walk it out.
Here is our filter for this week... Expand the Vision
I am praying for you.

This month our message is "Walking in God's Best Today."
Yesterday we talked about 1 Thessalonians 2:7-8 which says, "But we were gentle among you, just as a nursing mother cherishes her own children . Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well."
And a few verses later in 1 Thessalonians 2:11-12 says, "For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children, 12 encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory."
Notice the balance here. Paul was gentle like a nursing mother cherishing her children while also encouraging, comforting, and challenging like a father. This was how he walked among the people.
In today's communion we are asking God to help us balance being gentle and cherishing like a mother while also encouraging comforting, and challenging like a father...

1 Thessalonians 2:7-8 says, "But we were gentle among you, just as a nursing mother cherishes her own children . Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well."
Notice the way that Paul walked among the people... He was gentle like a nursing mother who cherishes her children.
And he was delighted to share his life with them.
I believe this is part of walking in God's ways.
In today's communion we are asking God to help us walk with people in a gentle a cherishing way.
Today's Health and Fitness Tip
In our health and fitness we must nourish and cherish our bodies gently, but this must be balanced with challenging and progressing consistently.
I am praying for you.

Galatians 5:16-18 says, "So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17For the flesh craves what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are opposed to each other, so that you do not do what you want. 18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law."
It's an interesting thing, that when we focus on walking by the Spirit or said another way walking with God, that the desires of the flesh seem to fade away. It's a matter of focus... If we focus on the Spirit the things of the Spirit grow, but if we focus on the flesh, the desires of the flesh grow.
We often try to discipline ourselves to develop better habits, but in many cases the answer is not stopping something. The answer is to start something else. Start walking by the Spirit and the desires of the flesh fade away.

In Matthew 21:16 it says, "“Do You hear what these are saying?” And Jesus said to them, “Yes. Have you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise’?”
Jesus is quoting Psalm which says, "From the mouth of infants and nursing babes You have established strength Because of Your adversaries, To make the enemy and the revengeful cease.
This verse is translated in several different ways. For example, "established strength," is also translated as "ordained/perfected praise."
Recently we talked about how God told both Abraham and Solomon that if they would walk before him and be complete/whole/perfected that he would establish them.
And the word for praise in Matthew 21:16 comes from a word that also means, "story."
So it could read, out of the mouth of babes and infants You have perfected our or your story.

Psalm 8:2 says, "From the mouth of infants and nursing babes You have established strength Because of Your adversaries, To make the enemy and the revengeful cease.
This verse is translated in several different ways. For example, "established strength," is also translated as "ordained praise."
But something interesting I found is that the Hebrew word for silencing the enemy or getting him to cease uses a word that can mean cease, desist, or rest.
This month we have been talking about walking in God's ways, and Proverbs 16:7 says that whenever a man's ways please the Lord, he makes even his enemies be at peace with him.
In today's communion we are asking God to help us understand Psalm 8:2 and how to practically apply this verse to our lives so that God causes the enemy to cease and desist from anything he has been up to so that we have rest on every side.

Amos 3:3 says, "Do two men walk together unless they have made an appointment?
This verse could also be translated as... Do walk in unity unless they are in agreement?
We have been talking about walking in step with God, but this means being synchronized with him and his timing.
Which means we need an appointment. Something simple we can do is set an appointment to go for walks with God. Life has a way of trying to throw all kinds of things at us to disrupt our appointments with God.
In today's communion we are asking God to help us have set times to walk with him.
Today's Health and Fitness Tip
In our workouts I think we also need a non-negotiable appointment with ourself, because it can be easy to push this aside if it's not prioritized.
I am praying for you.

Psalm 1:1 says, "Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked."
And Galatians 5:25 says, "Since we live by the Spirit, let us walk in step with the Spirit."
Walking in step with God makes me think of rhythm or dance. We can walk in rhythm and harmony with him. Our life is like a beautiful song and when we walk in step with God, we walk in his beautiful timing, that we can't make happen on our own.
In todays communion we are asking God to help us walk in step with him.
Today's Health and Fitness Tip
through the years of working with clients in the gym one of the biggest things I saw that derailed people was getting out of rhythm. Once you get into a good rhythm make sure to defend your rhythm and get back on track quickly if you fall out of rhythm.
I am praying for you.

Here is this week's Yearly Cycle update.
During this season of the year, God wants to prove to us that his timing is perfect. He will not be too early or late, but always right on time. In late June and early July, God wants to expand your vision—and his timing will be perfect. Make sure to stay tuned in by continuing to walk with him. This time of year has a lot to do with understanding his timing.
One day in this time period several years ago, my daughter was playing the piano, using an app that lights up in green when she played the correct note at the correct time. Playing the note early or late isn’t good. Imagine listening to your favorite song, but the timing of the beat is off. When we listen to music, it is obvious when someone plays the wrong note at the wrong time.
Our life is like a song. And God wants to help us play the right note at the right time. He will make sure that the timing is perfect, but this takes trust. Here’s the take-home message f...
