Good morning!
Here is today's communion meditation.
Romans 2:4 MSG says, "God is kind, but he's not soft. In kindness he takes us firmly by the hand and leads us into a radical life-change."
The combination of kindness and firmness can lead to a transformed life.
There are some people that are kind but not firm and others who are firm but not kind. I think walking in the balance of kindness and firmness is something we learn from God,
Todays communion is a time of gratitude that God is kind and firm, and we are asking Him to help us be more like him by being both kind and firm.
Today's Health and Fitness Tip
It takes kindness and firmness to get results in our health and fitness. Taking a kind and gentle approach that is mixed with discipline is needed.
I am praying for you.

Good morning!
Here is today's communion meditation.
2 Corinthians 10:8 says, "So even if I boast somewhat freely about the authority the Lord gave us for building you up rather than tearing you down, I will not be ashamed of it."
Yesterday we talked about pulling down ideas and imaginations that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God. We are to pull down these thoughts but we are to build up people.
In today's communion we are asking God to help us break free of any patterns of pulling others down, and to use the authority He's given us in Christ to build each other up.
Today's Health and Fitness Tip
The goal in the workout is to build up the body... not to tear it down. In workouts there is a point where you've done enough to make progress, and any more would only tear the body down. This is the sweet spot of the workout.
I am praying for you.

Good morning!
Here is today's communion meditation.
Recently my kids had a curtain up in one of our doorways in the house. The curtain wasn't secured very welll, and if they would give it a small tug it would pull down and fall to the floor.
One day when the curtain fell it reminded me of 2 Corinthians 10:5 which says, "And we pull down reasonings and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and we take all minds prisoner to the obedience of The Messiah."
Some versions translate this as pull down or cast down ideas/imaginations/arguments and high things that exalt themselves against God. About this time I also came across verses in Numbers and Deuteronomy where God told the people to pull down and demolish, the high places of their enemies.
I think something God was showing me is that these imaginations or thoughts can be pulled down as easily as the curtain in our doorframe.
In today's communion we are asking God to help us identif...
Good morning!
Here is today's communion meditation.
The other day I came across a scripture in Psalm 1:6 that I thought was very encouraging as we get started with a new year.
Psalm 1:6 MSG says, " God charts the road you take."
Some versions translate this as God watches over or knows the way or path of the righteous.
Today's communion is a time of gratitude that God knows the path we should take and is faithful to guide us along that path and chart our course.
Today's Health and Fitness Tip
It's a very simple thing but keeping a workout journal that tracks your progress makes a big difference. It's often the difference between working out/going through the motions and really training.
I am praying for you.

Good morning!
Here is today's communion meditation.
Lately we've been talking about boasting...Not boasting in ourselves, but boasting in the Lord.
Galatians 6:14 says, " May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
One of the things we should be boasting about is what was done for us on the cross.
In today's communion we are asking God to help us put off any patterns of boasting about ourselves and to replace it with boasting about what Jesus did for us on the cross.
Today's Health and Fitness Tip
Let's commit to taking a gentle approach to our fitness in 2024.

Happy New Year!
Today's communion meditation is for the year of 2024.
This year our message/theme for the year is, "The Great Reset."
On the Day of Atonement in 2023, the word that came through for me was, "The Great Resetting has begun."
And shortly after this I was listening to the teaching on the Jubilee from the 7 Dates With Jesus Online Course.
Jubilee happened every 50th year and it was a resetting of things in Israel, that started on the Day of Atonement.
During Jubilee all debt was forgiven and the people were restored to the inheritance God had given them.
Jesus is our Jubilee.
He has forgiven our debt of sin and restored us to our inheritance.
Think about resetting for a minute... If you truly had a fresh start this year, what would you do differently? What principles would you live by?
Today's communion is a time of gratitude that Jesus is our Jubilee, and an activation of the Great Reset.
I am praying for you.

Good morning!
Here is today's communion meditation.
Yesterday we talked about how knowledge can puff up, but love builds up. This reminded me of Jeremiah 9:23-24.
" Thus says the LORD: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, 24 but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the LORD.”
We shouldn't boast in our wisdom, ability, or resources but we can boast that we know and understand that the Lord is good and he practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness.
In today's communion we are asking God to help us put off any old habits of boasting in our wisdom, abilities, or resources and to help us boast in who he is.

This weekend I would encourage you to take some time to work on a Miracle Year Plan for 2024 with God. Take some time to get still and seek God about the one thing he wants you to work on or focus on for the year.

(This guide comes from the Recording Your Journey Workbook, which will provide a place to track your entire year of 2024.The workbook is the place where I write down my plan and record my journey through the year)
In Isaiah 61, which is the passage that Jesus reads from the scroll, it says, "He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.
In today's communion we are asking God to help us glean the lessons we were supposed to learn from 2023, to leave in the past anything from 2023 that we aren't supposed to bring forward with us, to help us g...

Here is today's communion meditation.
1 Corinthians 8:1-3 says, " We know that “We all possess knowledge.” But knowledge puffs up while love builds up. 2 Those who think they know something do not yet know as they ought to know. 3 But whoever loves God is known by God.'
Knowledge can puff us up and make us proud, but love builds up.
Today's communion is a time of gratitude that we are known by God, and we are asking Him to help us grow in our ability to build each other up in love.
Today's Health and Fitness Tip
As we get ready to start a new year, let's commit to taking gentle approach to our fitness so that we can be consistent and build momentum and confidence over time.

Good morning!
Here is today's communion meditation.
The other day my daughter Reina got a Pocahontas doll for Christmas. She's been learning about Pocahontas at school, and she's been very interested in the history. And we were talking about what Pocahontas would do if she needed water to drink.
Reina said she would probably go down to the river or lake and scoop up some water with her hands to drink.
This reminded me of the story of Gideon, who was leading God's army. But, God thought that he had too many men, because God wanted to the credit for the victory. So God had Gideon test the men to see who would be in his army.
In Judges 7:5 it says, "So Gideon took the men down to the water. There the LORD told him, “Separate those who lap the water with their tongues as a dog laps from those who kneel down to drink.”
Those that knelt down were the ones who were chosen, and I think this is a symbol of humility. Those that kneel down will be exalted and honor...
