God Left Him to Test Him

Uncategorized Aug 04, 2023

Listen to the Podcast

Here is today's communion meditation.

In 2 Chronicles chapter 32 King Hezekiah was healed by God and then in 2 Chronicles 32:31 it says, "But when envoys were sent by the rulers of Babylon to ask him about the miraculous sign that had occurred in the land, God left him to test him and to know everything that was in his heart."

I came across this verse the other day and asked God why he left Hezekiah to test him, because God has promised to never leave or forsake us.

After asking God about this my answer came pretty quickly. I was listening to a guy talking about being training to be a fighter pilot. He said that every time he was ready for the next level his trainer would leave him alone to do a solo flight, to prove that he was ready.

1 Thessalonians 2:4 says, "On the contrary, we speak as those approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. We are not trying to please people but God, who tests our hearts."

A theme all throughout the Bible is that God te...

God Took Care of Them on Every Side

Listen to the Podcast

Here is today's communion meditation.

In 2 Chronicles chapter 32 King Hezekiah and Jerusalem are being attacked by the King of Assyria, but God miraculously delivers them and in 2 Chronicles 32:22 it says, "So the LORD saved Hezekiah and the people of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib king of Assyria and from the hand of all others. He took care of them on every side."

Our lives have a lot of sides... Family, friends, work, health, fitness, finances, time, etc.

And God can take care of us on every side so that we have peace and rest on every side.

In today's communion we are asking God to take care of us on every side

Today's Health and Fitness Tip

Health and fitness also has a lot of sides... Nutrition, fitness, sleep, energy, joint health, body composition, etc. And God can also take care of us on every side in our health and fitness.

The Best Never Expires

Here is the Message for August.

Our message for 2023 is, " God Saved the Best Until Now," and our message for August is " The Best Never Expires."

The Promised Land in the Bible is described as a land of milk and honey, and an interesting thing about honey is that if it's cared for properly it never expires.

1 Peter 1:3-5 says, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, reserved in heaven for you, 5who through faith are shielded by God’s power for the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.…"

What God has for us never expires, it is reserved in heaven for us, and we can lay hold of it by faith.

Our monthly filter for August is... The Best Never Expires

I am praying for you.

Bring Out the Best In You

Uncategorized Aug 02, 2023

Listen to the Podcast

Here is today's communion meditation.

Our message for this year of 2023 is "God Saved the Best Until Now."

And our message for August is, " The Best Never Expires."

Luke 6:27-28 MSG says, "“To you who are ready for the truth, I say this: Love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the supple moves of prayer for that person. If someone slaps you in the face, stand there and take it. If someone grabs your shirt, giftwrap your best coat and make a present of it. If someone takes unfair advantage of you, use the occasion to practice the servant life. No more payback. Live generously."

Part of walking in God's best is learning to walk in love all the time, even when people push our buttons or do something unfair. This is supposed to bring out the best in us. We can do this because we trust that God will take of us, which frees us to live generously and walk in love all the time.

Turn it Around

Uncategorized Aug 01, 2023

Listen to the Podcast

Here is today's communion meditation.

The other day I had an address plugged into my GPS, but then decided to stop at a different location first. Since I was going in the wrong direction, every time I passed an opportunity to stop my GPS would recalculate and tell me to turn around. This happened over and over.

As this was happening I felt like God was showing me that when we get off track, he constantly speaks to us, telling us to turn around, but we often override his leading.

Jesus said that his sheep know his voice.

Today's communion is a time of gratitude that God is constantly helping us stay on track and turn things around, and we are asking him to help us know his voice and be responsive to his leading.

Today's Health and Fitness Tip

A great skill set we can develop is making quick adjustments and turning things around whenever we get off track.

Conformed to the Pattern

Uncategorized Jul 31, 2023

Listen to the Podcast

Here is today's communion meditation.

Our message for July is "Being Bold Leads to God's Best."

Romans 12:2 says, " Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

The world wants to conform us to the ways and pattern of how everyone else does things, but God's kingdom works differently, which means we must unlearn a lot of things while also having the boldness to do things in a different way.

In today's communion we are asking God to help us break free from the pattern of the world and to be transformed by the renewing of our mind.

Today's Health and Fitness Tip

God didn't intend for health and fitness to be a miserable thing, but the pattern of the world has twisted into something that is hard and overly complicated. Our minds must be renewed to doing things God's way.

And You Shall Know the Truth

Here is today's communion meditation.

John 8:32-32 says, "To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Notice the progression in this verse. First, we hold fast to the teaching of Jesus, then we'll be disciplined, and then we'll know the truth, and the truth will set us free.

If we take the reciprocal of this verse, we learn that lies can bind us. When we build our lives on lies it causes us to frame the world with the wrong lens, and it takes us captive, but the truth sets free.

In today's communion we are asking God to help us know the truth so that we are set free, and to speak the truth in love to others so they can also be set free.

Today's Health and Fitness Tip

The world has taught us all kinds of things about health and fitness that are not true. These things typically tell us that health and fitness has to be a miserable ...

The Boldness of the Open Window

Uncategorized Jul 29, 2023

Listen to the Podcast

Here is today's communion meditation.

This month our message is, "Being Bold Leads to God's Best.'

In the book of Daniel after the decree had been written that anyone praying to God would be thrown in the lion's den it says the following in Daniel 6:10:

"Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before."

Think about the boldness of Daniel, he still prayed with the window open. Windows allow for air, light, and vision. His vision was Jerusalem, he was waiting for his people to be restored to Jerusalem. When he was under pressure he prayed while keeping an eye on God and the vision.

He could be bold because he kept his eyes on God.

In today's communion we are asking God to help us understand the boldness Daniel had to pray with the window open, and to apply this un...

Refocus

Here is this week's Yearly Cycle update.

August is a time to refocus. Sometimes there is a tendency during the summer to get a little off-track, and August is a time to both expand and recommit to the vision. The deadline for the year ( Yom Kippur - Sept 24/25) is approaching, and as the deadline approaches you may experience two things... An increase in pressure and the feeling that time is moving slower.

As we refocus on God's plan the pressure and slower time gives us the ability to get more done before the deadline.

Here is our filter for this week... Refocus

I am praying for you.

Ask Boldly, Believingly

Uncategorized Jul 28, 2023

Listen to the Podcast

Here is today's communion meditation.

This month our message is, "Being Bold Leads to God's Best.'

James 1:5-8 MSG says, "If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You’ll get his help, and won’t be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who “worry their prayers” are like wind-whipped waves. Don’t think you’re going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open."

If we don't know what we are doing or need help with something we can ask God boldly and believingly. And I like the next part, not giving it a second thought. We have to learn to pray and really turn things over to God, trusting that he's got it. Once we pray we have to watch our thought life and turn over to God the care of what we prayed for.

In today's communion we are asking God to understand how much he desires to help us, and to ask him boldly and believingly withou...
