Imagination: God's Amazing Gift

The human mind is capable of incredible things, but perhaps the most powerful tool God has gifted us with is our imagination. Your imagination is an "amazing God-given gift" that serves as the starting point for all change, success, and personal growth. It's the place where dreams are conceived, where the old self is broken down, and the "new you" begins to take shape.

But like any powerful tool, it needs to be understood and mastered. When left on autopilot, it can become a breeding ground for limiting beliefs and self-sabotaging patterns. The key to unlocking your potential is learning how to take control of your imagination and deliberately direct its current toward God's truth.

The Power of Your Inner Programming

What is your imagination actually doing? It's the engine for your internal programming.

  • It Builds Your Emotional State: The images you constantly play in your mind—whether consciously or habitually—directly affect your emotions, which change the "charge or the vibration or the frequency of your body." Negative imaginations lead to emotional states of worry and fear; positive imaginings, rooted in God’s promises, lead to peace and confidence.

  • It Dictates Your Actions: Your emotional state then governs your attitude and how you show up in life. When your attitude is good, you are more likely to execute the right things in the right way. This means the visions you hold in your heart determine your daily performance, which ultimately shapes your results.

  • It’s the Root of Stuckness: If you've been "stuck" in a certain area—be it finance, health, or relationships—you're likely dealing with negative imaginative patterns that keep triggering the same negative loop. You keep running into the same old walls because your inner programming hasn't changed.

The good news is that you don't have to stay stuck in those old, destructive whirlpools.

🌊 Turning the Tide: The Process of Inner Reprogramming

It can be easy to live from the outside in, letting our circumstances dictate the images we hold in our minds. The path to lasting change is to switch to living from the inside out, letting God's word create a new image within us.

This process can be broken down into three powerful, manageable steps.

1. Identify and Acknowledge the Old Current

Before you can build a new pattern, you need to recognize the old one. If you’re struggling in an area, there's a "highly good chance" that negative thought patterns are running on a loop in your imagination.

  • The Overwhelm: When you first try to break this old pattern, it feels hard. It's like trying to march against a strong current—you're going against years of established habit. This initial resistance is often what leads to people giving up, feeling "weary" or "fearful" that the change won't last.

  • Keep it Manageable: The mistake is trying to tackle the "whole elephant" at once. Instead of being overwhelmed, identify one small, manageable piece to start with.

2. Implant and Meditate on the New Image (The Bridge)

Jesus is the Word made flesh (the Word) and the express image of God (the Image). The most effective way to reprogram your heart is to use God’s Word to build His image—and your true identity—on the inside.

  • Find Your Truth: Go to Scripture and find the promises that directly address your negative image. For example, if you need healing in your body look to promises like those found in Psalm 103:1-5.

  • Let the Word Build the Image: Don't just read the words; let them build a vivid, internal picture. Imagine yourself walking in the reality of that promise. This intentional meditation is what embeds truth in your heart.

  • Stir It In: This is a daily practice, not a one-time fix. Stir it in the imagination on purpose. You're building momentum in the opposite direction. What you meditate on—whether it's the problem or the promise—will grow stronger.

3. Take Action from Confidence (The Rest)

As you consistently stir in the image of God's word, you move from striving to resting.

  • Confidence is Key: The work of the imagination brings you to a place of confidence. You become so convinced of the image built by the Word that you start to live out of that conviction.

  • Resting in the New You: You stop letting the outside dictate your response. Instead, you respond to life’s triggers from the place of rest and confidence in the promise. This confident response changes your actions, which changes your results. You have successfully "turned the tables."

The Time for Action is Now

There is a natural human tendency to delay change, waiting for the perfect time to come. But why wait for tomorrow when you can take a small, manageable step today?

The power of faith is right now.

You don't need to have everything figured out or every fear conquered. You just need to choose one promise, allow God's word to build one true image on the inside, and start the simple, consistent process of internal reprogramming.

Do what you know to do today. Get a single promise, a single image, and start building the powerful, new you from the inside out.

If you would like to start the process today of transforming your results by transforming your internal programming check out our program The New You. It is a 40 day program designed to take you through this transformation.
